Coming to a close

Haven and I are waiting for a bus at Downtown Disney to go back to the hotel and start packing up to go home tomorrow. It's been a great vacation and I think we all had a great time. There are plenty of photos we'll be sharing in the upcoming days.

A mid-afternoon deluge kept us running for cover for most of tbe afternoon. Figuring out the plans for the night, which will depend on whether the rain stops for a parade.

Haven is dressed in her Belle outfit and we are having lunch today at the castle. Should be fun. We had a great time last night at the Magic Kingdom and finished the night at Splash Mountain. We are wrapping up Magic Kingdom today and I think Epcot tomorrow and then home Wednesday.

EPCOT today

Gwen and I were out really late last night (10pm) and we are getting ready to go to EPCOT today. Camden and I just went for a walk around the property and I think he really enjoyed learning about the cultural icons of the various decades. We could't come to a consensus about the 2000's icon. I think it should be the iPod. He thinks it should be a baby bottle.

Today is Magic Kingdom

Today, we are off to the Magic Kingdom. Not getting around real fast (slept in until 8:30) today, but after we take care of some things here at the hotel, we are going to board a bus to the Magic Kingdom. Haven's favorite place is Fantasy Land, Camden will probably enjoy Toon Town and I like TomorrowLand (imagine that). Gwen probably likes Main Street the best, especially while walkiing towards Cinderella's Castle. Today should be fun and I'll get some picture and video up once we get there.

While everyone else slept, dad was busy reading a book and drinking coffee. Fortunately our plane wasn't full so we could spread out a little. Haven and Camden both did excellent on the flight. I am not sure exactly what is in store for us today, but I don't think we are going to the parks (Gwen is sleeping while I write this, so I can't ask her) so we might swim and go to Downtown Disney and probably check in early tonight so we can be up early to hit the Magic Kingdom tomorrow.

The Weather

So I spent considerable time trying to find a widget to show a weather map of Orlando here on our site. Unfortuntely, I was not able to find one. Ironically, I just discovered that Gwen printed off a 10-day forecast map for Orlando. So today, the weather is supposed to be 90 degrees and isolated thunderstorms.

So far everything has gone smooothly and we are on the plane. Off we go.

Twas the Night Before Vacation

Tomorrow morning at precisely 3:00 a.m., our alarm clocks will sound and we will begin our adventure to Disney World. I'll try and get a photo or two up in the morning, but seriously, you don't want to see us at that time of the morning. Look for something around mid-morning when we land in Orlando.

Our Disney Vacation

So I am the dad that takes video at each recital, game or family event. I am also the dad that that likes gadgets. Put the two together and its practically mayhem. OK, so not exactly mayhem, but I am bound and determined to stretch the limits of vacationing digital style. Tomorrow, we are heading out on an eight day vacation to Disney World. Above, you will see Vacation Cam which I will film live streaming video from our vacation, sharing some of the rides, events and other fun at Disney World. While trying not to drive my techno-challenged wife crazy, I will be uploading pictures and blog posts our vacation.
